I want to be a pediatric nurse?

I am in high school and I finally figured out what I really want to be when I'm older. I'm really excited about it too because I've been thinking hard about what I want to be lol. Ok, anyways, I think i'd be good at it because I really love kids and I'm pretty calm and patient. I know the basics about what a pediatric nurse does but can you explain to me more about it so i know i have an understanding about it? Also, how much does the AVERAGE pediatric nurse make? Are there any degrees/cles i can take in college to raise the pay? I plan on getting a masters degree and later on, getting a doctors degree. Thank you!
