What do you think about this 80's theme idea?

Ok, so I'm in eigth grade and I'm helping plan the end of the year dance. Almost every year the dances are so boring because they have no theme! SO this year I suggested that we have a theme. My teacher said it would fine if I could come up with a good theme to use. She said we could even decorate the gym and everything. Well, as you know its REALLY hard thinking of a theme that 8th grader's WON'T think is weird or lame and not even come to the dance. So anyways I was thinking of doing an 80's theme. We could get lots of neon glow sticks and decorate the gym with posters of famous people from the 80's. The DJ could play lots of 80s rock music(guys like heavy rock music from bands like KISS right?)and people could dress up. What do you think? Think it could p the middle-schooler test? And would it be fun? If not, any other ideas? Thanks! : ]
